Honoring Marty Thompson for 50 yrs of service

Last night at our annual inspection and elections, Marty Thompson was honored for his 50 years of active service with the St James Volunteer Fire Department. Marty was voted into membership in January of 1975. He has worn many hats in his 50 years including but not limited to Firefighter, Lieutenant, Captain, Chief and President of the Department.

March 26, 2025, 17:51 hours**: The Nissequogue, St. James, Smithtown, Hauppauge and Nesconset Fire Departments were dispatched to a report of a house fire at 7 Smith Lane in Nissequogue. A resident on Landing Avenue reported seeing heavy black smoke in the area.
