The St. James Auxiliary is a vital division of the Department, comprising not only our wives, mothers, and daughters but also our brothers and sisters.
Established in 1929, the Auxiliary has been a cornerstone of support for the firefighters, undertaking a multitude of responsibilities over the years. During World War II, many Auxiliary members stepped up to assist with firefighting duties while the men were serving our country.
Their dedication and service have been unwavering, as they remain on call 24/7 to provide food preparation and ensure an adequate supply of drinks for hydration during emergencies, including fires, inclement weather, and during extensive training sessions.
In addition to their operational support, the Auxiliary organizes fundraising events to contribute to the FASNY Firefighters Home in Hudson, NY, and offers scholarships to both our younger members and the children of our members.
Their commitment and generosity make them an integral part of our department, playing a crucial role in our organization's success.
