It’s been a busy few weeks at the St. James Fire Department. On Wednesday, June 11, members trained in Yaphank on "Taxpayer" structures, which mimic commercial residential buildings with commercial spaces on the ground floor and offices or apartments above.
On June 18, they practiced skills for fighting vehicle fires, which now present unique challenges due to new technologies.
Today, some members cooled off kids at Mills Pond Elementary School's end-of-year picnic. During this time, we also responded to 30+ emergency calls. Always training and always ready for whatever comes our way. |
